Psychometric Testing
Many employers use psychometric tests as part of the recruitment process, the initial online screening process, or as part of the interview stage.
Tests used in application screening generally measure:
ability – your knowledge and skills
aptitude – your natural ability to do something
personality – things like your typical ways of thinking, motivations, interests, values and beliefs
Part of the recruitment process at the Booth Centre involved sitting a DISC assessment run by the University of Salford. Each letter indicated whether you were Dominant, Inspiring, Supportive or Creative and usually, the test would result in two of the four.
I had to answer 100 questions, each with a multiple choice of 5 answers and it had to be completed in under 7 minutes.
When I undertook the test it reported back that I was Inspiring, Supportive and Creative.
